Located 10 miles from Gardiner, Montana, Crevice Mountain Lodge is built on the site of the old 1870’s gold mining town of Crevasse. Several ruins and examples of boarding houses and gold stamp mills are within comfortable hiking distance. Every day there is the possibility of seeing and photographing wildlife native to the Park on the way to, from, or at the Lodge to include mule and whitetail deer, elk, antelope, buffalo, and Rocky Mountain Sheep. Many guests opt for an early breakfast then spend their day of discovery in Yellowstone Park, coming back to serenity in the evening. Taking a short educational nature hike after dinner, looking for gold in the old ore dump, roasting marshmallows over a campfire and actually being able to see the Milky Way dominating the beautiful expanse of stars from the mountain top, gives you a chance to experience real Montana off the beaten path. Crevice Mountain Lodge offers panoramic views of beautiful Yellowstone National Park, to include erupting geysers in the distance. A progression of blooming wildflowers through the season, groves of pine and aspen, and wildlife provide opportunities to paint or photograph lasting memories of a visit that goes well beyond B&B lodging to that of an experience. If you are looking for a clean cozy cabin, excellent meals in the Lodge, and friendly faces, Crevice Mountain Lodge is the place to stay. Cabins have private bathrooms, and should the night turn cool, the warmth and ambience of a woodstove. Wi-Fi is also available.
